“When Daddy Cool and RRR legend Gary Young heard Sarah Carroll’s new album, Star Parade, he cried. That’s a five-star review in anyone’s language. Deserved, too, because Star Parade is a roots music tour de force. Sarah’s superb songwriting swings from poignant to playful, with the result being soulful and sassy.”JEFF JENKINS, THE MUSIC. Sarah Carroll has performed at most of Australia’s high-profile festivals over a 25 year career. She launched her epic progressive country album Star Parade in March with new band The Left Wing, featuring ace producer and multi-instrumentalist Leigh Ivin on guitars and her supernaturally talented son George on bass.

Sarah will make her third trip to Americanafest in Nashville this year. Last year, she made a stop on the way on the island of Oahu. In Hawaii, she focused on teaching and learning more herself, taking advantage of numerous opportunities to jam with traditional local musicians. This time, she’s heading straight to Music City to play with heroes like Anne McCue and Tommy Womack, and represent her country at Sounds Australia events.

Sarah has enjoyed supporting high-profile artists such as Kinky Friedman (USA), Mic Conway, Old Man Luedecke (Canada), Eddi Reader (Scotland), Renee Geyer, Tim Rogers and one of Australia’s finest songmen, Neil Murray.

Sarah is an experienced radio broadcaster and music writer, having most recently published an interview with her favourite American songwriter, Robbie Fulks in Rhythms magazine.
