MY FICTION SAY ADIEU (FOR NOW…)

When My Fiction headed over to New York to perform as part of last year’s CMJ Music Festival, they came home with much more than just a growing reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting bands.

A chance meeting in a classy (maybe) New York bar has kicked off a chain of events that will next month see curly-headed wonder guitarist follow Jimmi Laubscher follow his heart and move on to new adventures in The Big Apple.

Over the past few years My Fiction have more than made good on the promise their early records showed. With albums FIREROMANCEFIRE and Shallow Highs, the band have secured national airplay, toured extensively and built on their growing international profile through a run of major placements in film and television.

More importantly though they have always been a very tight knit creative unit – built on a friendship that runs very deep. And while Jimmi’s move to the US will see them take a break from the stage, the band is already well into working on their newest batch of songs scheduled for release.

The band couldn’t let him go with a party though and My Fiction have announced their last home town show for the foreseeable future at one of Brisbane’s finest rooms – The Triffid on Saturday May 23.

Joining them on the night will be Eden Mulholland and Brisbane legends The Screaming Stevies.

8:00pm – 8:45pm: The Screamin’ Stevies
